Ralph Thomas Barber
Ralph Thomas Barber served in the United States Army from October 1956 to October 1958. Mr. Barber was stationed at Fort Rily, Kansas- The Big Red I. Qualifying as a Sharp Shooter, Mr. Barber displayed a level of high shooting skill. It was typically awarded to soldiers who scored a specific number of points or hit a required percentage of targets during rifle or pistol qualification tests. This rating was, and still is, symbolized by a badge that soldiers could wear on their uniforms as a mark of their shooting proficiency.
