Richard James Scheidt

History showcased his leadership and dedication to his country.

Colonel Richard James Scheidt dedicated 26 years of service to the United States Air Force, from August 19, 1965, to July 30, 1980. Throughout his career, he held assignments across the United States and in South Korea, Vietnam, and Germany, where his leadership and commitment greatly impacted those he served alongside. Among his many honors, Colonel Scheidt was awarded the prestigious Bronze Star, a testament to his bravery, excellence, and exemplary service under challenging conditions.

Colonel Scheidt continued a proud family tradition of military service alongside his brothers, Elmer August Scheidt and Theodore Carl Scheidt, who also served in the U.S. armed forces. His legacy of dedication, honor, and sacrifice remains a source of pride and respect.
